James E. "Jim" Eischen, 71, Hawesville, KY, died April 6, 2010, at his residence.
He was born August 17, 1938, in Jay County, IN, to the late Sylvester Eischen and the late Mildred Schmidt. On May 7, 1960, he married Barbara Gross, who survives.
Other survivors are Daughter, Cathy (Scott) Bewley of Reynolds Station, KY, Son, Tim (Suzanne) Eischen of Greenfield, IN, Sister, Janet Privett and husband John Kleinhenz of Montezuma, OH, Sister, Susan (Gary) Jones of Geneva, IN, Sister, Phyllis Gibson of Lima, OH, Brother, Orville (Carol) Eischen of Celina, OH, and 5 Grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, David Eischen.
He retired as a lieutenant of the Indianapolis Fire Department.
He was a graduate of Rockford High School, a veteran of the US Air Force, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Hawesville, KY.. He attended both St. William and St. Lawrence Catholic Churches in Knottsville, KY. Funeral mass is 10:30 am Friday, April 9, 2010 at St. Mary of the Presentation Catholic Church , Geneva, IN (Irish Settlement), the Rev. Richard Walling officiating. Burial is at St. Mary of the Presentation Cemetery, Geneva, IN.
Calling is Wednesday 2-8 pm CST at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City, IN Chapel. There will also be a visitation Thursday 2-8 pm & Friday 9-9:45 am at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
