Carl H. Adams, 93, Portland, Indiana, died June 25, 2013, at Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Living Community, St. Marys, Ohio.
He was born February 10, 1920, in Celina, OH, to Whitridge Adams and Carrie (Andrews) Adams. On September 21, 1950, he married the late Wanda (Stump), who died November 1, 2001.
Surviving are daughter - Deb (Max) Prescott of Ansonia, OH; 3 grandchildren - Teri (Matt) Cross of Dayton, OH, Joe (Kelly) Prescott of Dayton, OH, and Sara (Nathan) Smith of Ansonia, OH; 5 great grandchildren - Isabela, Dominic, Addison, Ashlyn, and Avery; 3 brothers-in-law - James (Helen) Stump of Fort Recovery, OH, Larry (Mary Jo) Stump of Hudson, WI, and Steve (Audrey) Stump of Plymouth, MI; 2 Sisters-in-law - Phyllis Jean Ballard of Portland, IN and Phyllis Wolfgang of Bluffton, IN.
Deceased is a sister, Grace Fair, a brother, Lisle Adams, and brothers-in-law, Robert Stump, Frank Ballard, and Sonny Fair.
He was a graduate of the former Washington Township High School, Mercer County, Ohio, was owner and operator of Adams Auto Wrecking, Fort Recovery, and was also a retired farmer.
He served on the Fort Recovery Fire Department, was a member of the Jayland Antique Car Club, Portland, Jay County Rural Youth Club and the Fort Recovery United Methodist Church, Fort Recovery.
Services are 10:30 am Friday, June 28, 2013, at Brockman - Boeckman Funeral Home, the Rev. Allan Brown officiating. Burial is at Salamonia Cemetery, Salamonia, Indiana.
Calling is 5:00 pm-8:00 pm Thursday and 9:30 am-10:30 am Friday at Brockman - Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
Contributions can be made to Fort Recovery United Methodist Church, South West Mercer Fire Department, Otterbein Benevolent Care or Partners Appreciation Committee.
