Dale L. Metzger

Dale L. Metzger, 62, Fort Recovery, Ohio, died January 5, 2014 at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater, OH.
He was born January 31, 1951, in Coldwater, OH, to Norbert A. Metzger and the late Rosemary M. (Timmerman). His father, Norbert Metzger survives in Fort Recovery. On June 14, 1975, he married Mary Jo (Rammel) Metzger, who survives.
Also surviving is a daughter - Lori Metzger of Fort Recovery and her fiance, Scott Abels of Fort Recovery; 2 sons - Aaron Metzger of Fort Recovery and Troy Metzger of Fort Recovery and his fiancee, LeAnne Tobin of Fort Recovery; 2 sisters - Jeanette (Louis) Diller of Fort Recovery and Sue (Gary) Kuess of Celina, OH; 2 brothers - Joe (Sharon) Metzger of Fort Recovery and Chuck (Linda) Metzger of Fort Recovery; 2 granddaughters, Taylor and Dakota; and in-laws - Bev Newell of Parker, CO, Harriet (Jerry) Pearson of Fort Recovery, Beth (L.D.) Nofzinger of Howe, IN, Vicki (Tom) Staugler of Fort Recovery, Sharon Collins of Fort Recovery, John (Cheryl) Rammel of Fort Recovery, Rick Kaup of Berne, IN, Ruth (Steve) Reichert of Fort Recovery, and Jeff (Terry) Rammel of Celina, OH.
Deceased are daughter, Jami Metzger, a grandson, Trevor Huntsman, father-in-law & mother-in-law, Robert & Jean Rammel, and in-laws, Lisa Kaup, Scott Collins, Richard Newell, and John Kaffenberger
He was a 1969 graduate of Fort Recovery High School, Fort Recovery and served in the Indiana National Guard.
He was formerly employed at Cooper Farms, Fort Recovery and also formerly owned and operated Metzger Backhoe and Trenching, Fort Recovery.
He was inducted into the Fort Recovery Athletic Hall of Fame and was a member of the Fort Recovery Ambassadors Club, the Fort Recovery American Legion and Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery. He was an avid fan of the Fort Recovery Indians and enjoyed being with family and their cat "Pumpkin". A
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, January 9, 2013 at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, with Fr. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery, Fort Recovery.
Calling is 3:00 pm-8:00 pm Wednesday and 9:00 am-10:00 am Thursday at Brockman - Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
