David M. Affolder

David M. Affolder, 73, of Geneva, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at the Fort Wayne VA Medical Center.

He was born on February 19, 1949, in Decatur, Indiana, to the late Dale and Catherine (Garlinger) Affolder.

Dave is survived by his daughters, Casi (Adrian) Grube of Fort Recovery, Ohio, and Allison Affolder of Geneva; his grandchildren, Aden, Carson, and Alivia Grube; his siblings, Evelyn Sue Kinley of Alexandria, Indiana, and Keith (Wanda) Affolder of Bryant, Indiana; his numerous nieces and nephews; and his sidekick and beloved dog, Hot Dog.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his brothers, Bert Affolder and Les Affolder.

Dave was a 1967 graduate of South Adams High School. Shortly after graduating, Dave was drafted into the United States Army, where he served honorably during the Vietnam War until he was discharged in 1971. When he returned home, Dave began a life-long career in construction for various companies. Dave loved his classic antique cars and his Harley Davidson motorcycles. He was a member of the American Legion Post 468 in Berne, Indiana and an antique car club. In more recent years, Dave became a snowbirder and enjoyed spending the winters down in Florida.

A celebration of Dave's life will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022, from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Adrian and Casi Grube's home, 1846 St. Peter Road, Fort Recovery, Ohio 45846.

Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home is serving Dave's family.
