Dennis L. Denney, 69, Fort Recovery, Ohio, died May 6, 2014, at his residence. He was born December 29, 1944, in Celina, OH, to the late Maurice Denney and the late Agnes (Barrenbrugge) Denney. On December 1, 1979, he married Patricia (Bagby) Denney, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Cheryl Seronello of Dublin, CA and Staci (Todd) Hartke of Fort Recovery, OH; two sisters, Diane Denney-Winthrop & husband Kenneth Winthrop of Manhattan Beach, CA and Beth (Barry) Jones of Hillsboro, OH; a brother, Mike (Suellen) Denney of Rochester, IN; and a grandson, Jacob D. Hartke. Also deceased is a son-in-law, Michael Soronello. He was a graduate of Fort Recovery High School, Fort Recovery and was a U.S. Navy veteran who served in the Vietnam War. He retired from Hughes Aircraft, El Segundo, CA., in the space communication division after 28 years. He recently was employed part time with the village of Fort Recovery.
He was a member and Past Commander of the American Legion Post 345, Fort Recovery and was active with Boy Scout Troop 99, Fort Recovery, where he earned Eagle Scout in 1963. He also enjoyed model trains and working on his model train display. Services will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Brockman - Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Fr. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery, Fort Recovery. Graveside military honors will be conducted by the Fort Recovery American Legion.
Calling is 4:00 pm-8:00 pm Friday and 9:30 am-10:30 am Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Brockman - Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
