Edward H. Buehler , 88, Fort Recovery, Ohio, died August 26, 2013 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, OH.
He was born November 6, 1924 in Burkettsville, OH to the late George Buehler and the late Rose (Stammen) Buehler. On September 1, 1951, he married Marcene (Kahlig), who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Karen (Bob) Schroer of Fort Recovery, OH and a son, Dale Buehler of Fort Recovery, OH; 3 sisters, Clarine Liette of St. Henry, OH, Mary Thobe of Maria Stein, OH and Phyllis (Cyril) Evers of St. Henry, OH; 2 granddaughters, Angie Mulenkamp and Gina Spears and 5 great grandchildren, Drew, Cole, Keegan, Ian and Shawn.
Deceased are two brothers & their spouses, Clarence and Rose Buehler and Walter & Alvina Buehler; three sisters & their spouses, Evelyn & Ben Bruening, Dorothy & Alvin Raterman and Virginia & Bob Stupp; two brothers-in-law, Clarence Liette and Werner Thobe. He retired from Minster Machine, Minster, OH after 40 years and was also a farmer.
During World War II he served in the US Army in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of the American Legion, Coldwater, OH, the Knights of Columbus, St. Henry, OH, and the St. Peter Catholic Church Holy Name Society and choir.
He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, gardening and spending time with his family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Thursday at St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Peter, Ohio, with the Rev. Fr. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Peter Cemetery, St. Peter, Ohio. Graveside military honors will be conducted by the Coldwater American Legion.
Calling is 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00pm Wednesday and 9 - 9:45am Thursday at Brockman - Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
