Eileen C. Kaiser Schmitz, 92, of Fort Recovery, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater, Ohio.
She was born on August 9, 1929, in New Weston, Ohio, to the late George and Mathilda (King) Rauh.
In addition to her parents, Eileen was preceded in death by first husband, Richard Kaiser; her second husband, Bernard Schmitz; 2 grandsons, Neil Lange and Christopher Schmitz; a great granddaughter, Mallory Bergman; and her siblings, infant brother, Mark, Paul (Edna) Rauh, Linus Rauh, and Sally (James) Doherty.
Aside from raising her family, Eileen worked at Vonderhaar's Market and as a dental receptionist for many years in Fort Recovery. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella Circle 810, Fort Recovery, American Legion Post 345, and the St. Joseph Christian Mothers Sodality. In her free time, Eileen enjoyed making rosaries, quilts, and embroidery. She also liked to garden, tending to both her vegetable and flower gardens.
Eileen is survived by her children, Charlene (Milton) Bergman of Fort Recovery, Sue (Sam) Schmiesing of Coldwater, Hank (Alice) Kaiser of Celina, Art (Jackie) Kaiser of Coldwater, John (Deb) Kaiser of New Weston, Emma (Tom) Sudhoff of Fort Recovery, Phyllis (Jerry) Macke of Wapakoneta, Arlene (Ray) Parr of Dayton, Dan (Marilyn) Schmitz of Fort Recovery, Pam (David) Lange of Coldwater, Todd Schmitz of California; 30 grandchildren, 79 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; and her in-laws, Marcella Hemmelgarn and Rosemary Kaiser, both of Coldwater.
A Mass of Christian Burial will held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1689 St. Joe Road, Fort Recovery, Ohio 45846. Burial will follow in St. Joe Cemetery.
Guests may visit with Eileen's family on Monday, March 7, 2022, from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Tuesday from 11:30 AM until 12:15 PM at Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
