Esther I. Hicks Homan, 87, Fort Recovery, Ohio, died at 9:05 AM March 3, 2011, at The Gardens at St. Henry, St. Henry, OH. She was born November 16, 1923, in Jay County, IN, to the late Labon Fogle and the late Rose Berger. On June 6, 1942 she married Harry Hicks and he died October 31, 1967. On June 17, 1972 she married Walter Homan and he died November 7, 1977.
Surviving are daughter - Linda Sovocool of Fletcher, OK; four sons - James (Carolyn) Hicks of Berne, IN, Robert Hicks of Fort Wayne, IN, Richard Hicks of Fort Recovery, OH, David (Pam) Hicks of Fort Recovery, OH; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law - Anna Marie Homan of St. Anthony, OH.
Deceased are brother, Glenn Fogle, infant brother, Oscar Fogle, and sister, Elvera Theurer.
She was a 1941 graduate of Portland High School, Portland, IN.
She worked as a wedding and banquet cook and was also employed at McDonalds, Coldwater, OH.
She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, Fort Recovery, Ohio and Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Ft. Recovery, Ohio.
Services are 10:30 AM, Monday at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Ft. Recovery, Ohio, the Fr. Thomas Dorn, officiating. Burial is at Gravel Hill Cemetery, Bryant, Indiana.
Calling is 2:00 PM-6:00 PM Sunday and 9:00 AM-10:00 AM Monday at Brockman - Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
