Gary L. Wendel

Gary L. Wendel , 53, Fort Recovery, Ohio, died May 3, 2013 at his home.
He was born September 13, 1959, in Coldwater, OH, to Elmer Wendel and the late Joan (Borgerding). His father, survives in Fort Recovery. On December 18, 1982, he married Lisa (Staugler) Wendel, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters - Gena Wendel, Dana Wendel, and Nina Wendel, all at home; five sisters - Connie (Chuck) Kaiser of Fort Recovery, Carol (Dino) Knapke of Fort Recovery, Judy Bettinger of Coldwater, OH, Susie (Dan) Muhlenkamp of Coldwater, and Becky (Kevin) Kunk of Coldwater; mother-in-law - Genevieve Staugler of Fort Recovery; brothers and sisters-in-law - Cindy (Stan) Rainey of Hilton Head, SC, Sandy (Carl) Hastings of Fort Recovery, Peg (Dave) Bretz of Fort Recovery, and Pat (Don) Wendel of Fort Recovery.
Also deceased are father-in-law, Werner "Dick" Staugler and brother-in-law, Jim Bettinger.
He was a 1977 graduate of Fort Recovery High School and was employed at Cooper Farms, Fort Recovery as a service rep.
He was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge, both of Celina, OH.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, Fr. Thomas Dorn, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery, Fort Recovery.
Calling is 2:00 pm-8:00 pm Tuesday and 9:00 am-10:00 am Wednesday at Brockman - Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
