Gerald E. "Jerry" Timmerman, 87, Fort Recovery, Ohio, died peacefully, November 9, 2013, surrounded by his family, at Briarwood Village Nursing Home, Coldwater, OH.
He was born July 13, 1926, in Sharpsburg, OH, to the late Anthony Timmerman and the late Frances (Rammel) Timmerman. On June 10, 1950, he married Irene (Gruss) Timmerman, who survives.
Also surviving are 5 sons - Ed (Jeanette) Timmerman of Independence, MO, Mark (Dixie) Timmerman of Fort Recovery, OH, Dave (Lisa) Timmerman of Fort Recovery, OH, Kevin (Lucy) Tmmerman of St. Henry, OH, Roger Timmerman of Fort Recovery, OH; 6 daughters - Thelma (Bob) Parks of Greenville, OH, Pat (Ken) Stammen of Fort Recovery, OH, Sue (Ken) Flory of Union City, IN, Lois (Steve) Vogel of Fort Recovery, OH, Sally (Don) Siegrist of Fort Recovery, OH, Joyce (Tom) Fullenkamp of Fort Recovery, OH; 2 sisters - Edna (Paul) Klingshirn of Coldwater, OH and Lucille (Jerry) Laux of Fort Recovery, OH; 29 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 1 great, great grandchild; daughter-in-law - Ginny (Jeff) Pugh of Fort Recovery, OH; 3 sisters-in-law - Jean Timmerman of Minster, OH, Loudonna Timmerman of Coldwater, OH and Alma Timmerman of Coldwater, OH; 2 brothers-in-law - Bernard Hartings of St. Henry, OH and Urban Dirksen of Fort Recovery, OH;
Deceased are an infant daughter, Mary, a son, Tony Timmerman, 2 grandchildren, 3 brothers - Wilfred Timmerman, Richard Timmerman and Louis Timmerman; 5 sisters - Erma Eischen, Ruth Gruss, Joan Hartings, Esther Hartings and Bernice Dirksen. He was employed at the former New Idea, Coldwater OH and retired from farming.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 345 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6515, both of Fort Recovery. He belonged to the Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, Novemeber 13 at 10:30 am at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church with Father Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery, Fort Recovery, Ohio. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the American Legion.
Calling is 2:00 pm-8:00 pm Tuesday and 9:00 am-10:00 am Wednesday at Brockman - Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio. .
