Gerald J. "Jake" Homan , 73, Fort Recovery, Ohio, died August 4, 2012 at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Sidney, OH.
He was born March 8, 1939, in Celina, OH, to the late Anthony Homan and the late Ida Schulte. On October 19, 1963, he married Delores (Heckman), who survives.
Also surviving are 4 sons - Dale (Jennifer) Homan of Fort Recovery, OH, Keith (Patty) Homan of Fort Recovery, OH, Ted (Alison) Homan of Fort Recovery, OH, Jason (Monica) Homan of Fort Recovery, OH; 2 daughters - Pamela (Jonathan) Wehrkamp of Coldwater, OH and Sandy Homan of Columbus, OH; 6 sisters - Janet (Jim) McEldowney of Versailles, OH, Millie (Jim) Boehmer of Kettering, OH, Eileen (Art) Dapore of Russia, OH, Mary (Joe) Keller of Fort Recovery, OH, Carolyn (Dave) Kreischer of Sidney, OH, and Doris (Phil) Sheffer of Fort Recovery, OH; brother - Herb (Charlene) Homan of Fort Recovery, OH; and 16 grandchildren.
Deceased are infant son, Daniel Homan and 2 grandchildren.
He was a 1957 graduate of Fort Recovery High School .
He retired from Minster Machine, Minster,OH and from farming.
He served in the Army Reserve and the Burkettsville Fire Department. He was a member of the Fort Site Antique Tractors and American Legion, both of Fort Recovery, St. Paul Catholic Church, Sharpsburg, OH and the Men's Sodality of the church.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 am Wednesday at St. Paul Catholic Church, Sharpsburg, Ohio, Fr. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial is at St. Paul Cemetery, Sharpsburg, Ohio. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the American Legion, Fort Recovery.
Calling is 2:00 pm-8:00 pm Tuesday and 9:00 am-9:45 am Wednesday at Brockman - Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
