Kenneth "Kenny" C. Muhlenkamp, 84, of Fort Recovery, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater, Ohio.
He was born on January 10, 1938, in Coldwater, to the late Edmund and Rosella (Ullman) Muhlenkamp.
In addition to his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn (Rindler) Muhlenkamp, whom he married on June 30, 1962 and who passed away on July 1, 2012; his infant sister, Alice Muhlenkamp; his siblings, Don Muhlenkamp, Doris (Jerry) Schafer, Vera (Don) Alig, and Virginia McClurg; and his brother-in-laws, James Paulus, John Hardin, Thomas Andrus, and Dave Barga.
Kenny is survived by his children, Deb (Dennis) Schoenlein of Fort Recovery, Brian Muhlenkamp of Fort Recovery, and Brent "Buck" (Christina) Muhlenkamp of St. Henry, Ohio; his grandchildren, Shelly (Doug) Heitkamp, Mike (Alicia) Schoenlein, Sherri (Bryan) Pottkotter, Mitchell Muhlenkamp, Sara (Jacob) Leuthold, Paige (Logan) Grapenthien, Tess Muhlenkamp, and Alex Muhlenkamp; his 17 great grandchildren; his siblings, Thelma Barga of North Star, Ohio, Ruth Hardin of Sarasota, Florida, Marge Paulus of Celina, Ohio, Mary Jane (Carl) Obringer of Fort Recovery, Dave (Marica) Muhlenkamp of Fort Recovery, Connie Andrus of Dublin, Ohio, and Judy (Jerry) Schulze of Celina; his brother-in-law, Pat McClurg of Versailles, Ohio; and his sister-in-law, Dorothy Muhlenkamp of Fort Recovery.
Kenny served his country honorably in the United State Army for several years. He then returned home and continued farming for years to come. He was an active member in the Ohio Progressive Sportsman Club, where he enjoyed coon hunting, water races, and playing cards. Even to this day, Kenny raised and bred Standardbred horses.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, December 19, 2022 at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, with Father Alexander Witt celebrating. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Guests may visit with Kenny's family on Sunday, December 18, 2022, from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM, and again on Monday from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM, at Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home in Fort Recovery.
