Lloyd A. Flynn, Jr., often referred to as Red, age 72, of Fort Recovery, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.

He was born on May 8, 1952, in Marion, Indiana, to Sylvia (Cook) Flynn of Celina, and the late Lloyd Flynn, Sr.

In addition to his father, Lloyd was preceded in death by his son, Lloyd A, Flynn III; his sister, Christina England; his brothers-in-law, Alan Phillips and Dave Stienecker; his father and mother-in-law, Linzie and Faye (Maynard) Frazier; his in-laws, Donna (Thurman) Starr, Roger Frazier, and Sue Ann Frazier.

Along with his mother, Lloyd is survived by his wife of 43 years, Christi (Frazier) Flynn; his children, Tonya “Liz” Flynn of Van Wert, Linda (John) Gross of Wapakoneta, and Stephanie (Darla) Brumbaugh of Ansonia; his grandchildren, Claude “Skeeter” (Kiah) Coffman III, Cierra (Jared) Hoffman, Cody (Jessie) Coffman, Misty-Ann (Ryan) Long, Christopher Harrell, Ray Harrell, Kassi Uribe, Lloyd Flynn IV, Jayden Flynn, Vanessa Neves, Destiny Flynn, and Logan Prince; his great grandchildren, Karter, Kyndal, Kamdyn, Bryn, Breck, Payton, Paisley, Parker, Dustin, Mali-Ann, Oakley, Koen-Lee, Pierslee, Greenlee, Ebony, Roslyn, Adelaide, Jordyn Faye, and Maverick; his siblings, Kathy (Jeff) Shuster of Kissimmee, Florida, Barb Phillips of Englewood, Tennessee, Sue Samaniego of Celina, Sylvia Stienecker of Celina, Robert Flynn of Celina, and Greta Backus of Huntsville, Ohio; his in-laws, Michelle “Mike” (Larry) Braun of Celina, and Keith Frazier of Celina; and numerous cousins and friends.

Lloyd was a Hull Maintenance technician for the United States Navy. He served his country honorably until he retired after 22 years in 1994. Although he worked aboard ships, Lloyd’s real passion was classic cars. He was a car enthusiast inside and out. He owned several classic cars, but his all-time favorite was a candy apple red, 1962 Starfire. Lloyd was a member of several car clubs and loved going to car shows. He was proud of his 1951 and 1954 Chevy, which he enjoyed showing off. Oddly enough, his favorite movie also included a car, “Christine”. He enjoyed watching movies with his grandchildren, especially, "California Kid" and "Cool Hand Luke". In his free time, Lloyd enjoyed traveling, going fishing, and playing jokes on his family and friends. No matter what was going on, Lloyd would always stop to help a family member or friend in need. He truly had a heart of gold.

A celebration of Lloyd’s life will be held at 5:00 PM on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery. Burial will take place at a later date in Swamp College Cemetery.
