Marcel R. Welling , 89, Bryant, Indiana, died July 9, 2012, at his home.
He was born January 16, 1923, in Bryant, IN, to the late Henry Welling and the late Elizabeth (Schaefer). On June 24, 1950, he married Mary Ellen (Lengerich) Welling, who survives.
Also surviving are 6 daughters - Marj (Larry) Sanders of Mentone, IN, Cathy (Mike) Bettinger of Coldwater, OH, Geri (Mark) Mestemaker of Coldwater, OH, Judy (Roger) Wellman of Bryant, IN, Joanne (Greg) Alig of St. Anthony, OH, Linda (Kevin) Wellman of Decatur, IN; 3 sons - Bob (Rose) Welling of Bryant, IN, Dave (Colleen) Welling of Bryant, IN, Paul (Mary) Welling of St. Anthony, OH; sister - Clara (Dick) Friedrich of Fort Wayne, IN; 40 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Deceased are a grandchild, Marie; 4 sisters, Sr. Alfrieda Welling, Mary Kemper, Adelaide Wilkinson; and brother, Hilbert Welling.
He was a retired dairy farmer and served in the U.S. Navy during WW II.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Men's Sodality of the church, Knights of Columbus, Decatur, IN, Bryant Senior Citizens, and Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Bryant, IN.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 am Thursday at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Bryant, Indiana, Fr. David Hoying officiating. Burial is at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery, Bryant, IN.
Calling is 2:00 pm-8:00 pm Wednesday and 9:00 am-9:45 am Thursday at Brockman - Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
Military graveside honors will be conducted by the American Legion, Fort Recovery, OH.
