Mary C. Siegrist

Mary C. Siegrist, 88, Fort Recovery, Ohio, died on May 30, 2016, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton, Ohio.
She was born October 6, 1927, in Dayton, OH, to the late Lawrence and Florentina (Kramer) Klosterman. On August 28, 1948, she married the late Edwin Siegrist, who died December 4, 2012.
Surviving are her six children, Paul (Alberta) Siegrist of St. Henry, OH, Rita McEldowney of Fort Recovery, OH, Joe (Diane) Siegrist of Jay County, IN, Diana Mendenhall of Yorkshire, OH, Ruth (Mark) Beyke of Fort Recovery, OH, Andrew (Pamela) Siegrist of Fort Recovery, OH; 24 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; a sister, Esther Borger of Celina, OH; a brother, Norman (Rita) Klosterman of Celina, OH; two sisters-in-law, Eulalia Klosterman of Coldwater, OH and Margie Klosterman of Kettering, OH; and in-law, Dolores Siegrist of Fort Recovery, OH.
Also preceding her in death are two sons-in-law, Mark McEldowney and Duane Mendenhall, 3 grandchildren Nicholas, Hannah and Matt, her sister, Irma Eiting, two brothers, Elmer Klosterman and Vernon Klosterman, and two brothers-in-law, Melvin Borger and Ken Eiting.
Mary was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Peter, OH, and the church's Christian Mother's Sodality. Mary was an avid vegetable gardener but especially loved and took pride in growing many different varieties of flowers. She enjoyed sewing and baking. She was famous for her applesauce cake and chocolate chip cookies.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Friday, June 3, 2016 at St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Peter, Ohio, with Fr. Ned Brown officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery.
Calling is 2:00 pm-8:00 pm Thursday and 9:00 am-9:45 am Friday at Brockman - Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
