Mary "Kate" Wendel

Mary K. "Kate" Wendel , 85, Fort Recovery, Ohio, died on November 8, 2013, at her daughter's residence, Fort Recovery, Ohio. She was born December 3, 1927 in Fort Recovery, to the late Albert Traxler and the late Louetta (Garman) Traxler. On June 18, 1949, she married the late Robert Allen , who died March 25, 1981. On June 8, 1984, she married the late Vitus Wendel, who died December 29, 2001.
Surviving are daughter - Vickie (Dave) Jutte of Fort Recovery, OH; 3 grandchildren - Heidi (Chris) DuHamel, Davy (Kate) Jutte, and Matthew (Val) Jutte, all of Fort Recovery; 8 great grandchildren: 1 great great grandchild; sister-in-law - Sally Traxler of Fort Recovery; 5 step children - Diane (LaMoyne) McCoy, Steve (Janet) Wendel, and Sheila (Terry) Bias, all of Fort Recovery, Karla (Dewey) Osborne of Redkey, IN and Janel (Mike) Keller of Berne, IN; 13 step grandchildren; 12 step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are 2 brothers, Don Traxler and Jim Traxler, and sister, Linda Bowen.
She was a graduate of Fort Recovery High School.
She was retired from the former Lee Guggenbiller Chevrolet Dealership, Fort Recovery after 25 years.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 345 and Daughters of Isabella Circle 810, both of Fort Recovery. She was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery.
A Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 am Monday at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, with the Fr. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery, Fort Recovery.
Calling is 8:30 am-10:00 am Monday at Brockman - Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
