Mary R. Bergman , 90, Fort Recovery, Ohio, died at 5:10 p.m. March 7, 2011, at The Gardens at St. Henry, St. Henry, OH. She was born October 19, 1920, in Fort Recovery, OH, to the late Nicholas R. Remaklus and the late Louise B. Steinbrunner. On December 30, 1939, she married the late Ralph H. Bergman, who died June 5, 2005.
Surviving are son - Anthony (Jacqueline) Bergman of Fort Recovery, OH; brother - Lee (Joyce) Remaklus of Eaton, OH; sister - Marquerite Meeks of Eaton, OH; 4 grandchildren;12 great grandchildren; Sister-In-Law - Marianne Remaklus of Fort Recovery, OH.
Deceased are son, John Bergman; a great grandchild; 4 sisters, Catherine Current, Sister Lorette Remaklus OP, Sister Colette Remaklus OP, & Ann Keesling; 3 brothers, John Remaklus, Billie Remaklus, and Joe Remaklus.
She was a 1939 graduate of St. Henry High School, St. Henry, Ohio.
She was a Past Regent of the Daughters of Isabella Circle 810, Fort Recovery, OH and also served as State and International Regent. While serving as International Regent, she received the Pro Eclesia et Pontifice medal and the National Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C., bestowed the Presidents Medal upon her. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Fort Recovery, Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, and its Altar Sodality.
Funeral mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, the Rev. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial is at St. Marys Cemetery, Ft. Recovery, Ohio.
Calling is 3:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday and 9:00-10:00 a.m. Friday at Brockman - Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
