Mary H. Romer, 90, of Fort Recovery, died at 6:20 p.m. Nov. 17, 2009, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
She was born Oct. 2, 1919, in Fort Recovery to John and Irene Laux Pottkotter. On Oct. 6, 1945, she married Cletus Romer, who died March 28, 1995.
Surviving are eight sons, John (Irene) Romer, LaGrange, Ind., Neil (Karen) Romer, St. Henry, Spencer (Patty) Romer, Dayton, Eric (Emily) Romer, Sarasota, Fla., Gerard (Sue) Romer, Ormond Beach, Fla., Kevin (Melissa) Romer, Greenville, Martin (Kellie) Romer, Greencastle, Ind., and Calvin (Carolyn) Romer, Dayton; a daughter, Valerie (Bill) Gerlach, Coldwater; two brothers, Jerry (Rita) Pottkotter and Bill (Virginia) Pottkotter, all of Fort Recovery; two sister-n-laws, Adeline Pottkotter and Marie Pottkotter, both of St. Henry, 29 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Paul; four brothers, Edward, Vincent, Robert and Albert; two sisters, Frances Hess and Agnes Fischer; and a granddaughter.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic church and its Altar Sodality, Coldwater, and a former member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Sharpsburg, the Daughters of Isabella, American Legion Auxiliary, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, all of Fort Recovery.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Catholic Church, Sharpsburg, the Rev. Ron Wilker officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday and 9-9:45 a.m. Saturday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery. A lodge prayer service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
