Rita A. Pottkotter

Rita A. Pottkotter, 88, Fort Recovery, Ohio, died on October 21, 2015, at The Gardens at St. Henry, St. Henry, Ohio. She was born November 30, 1926, in St. Henry, to the late Leo and Catherine (Braun) May. On September 30, 1950, she married Jerome Pottkotter, who died December 23, 2009.
Surviving are ten children, Dave Pottkotter of Fort Recovery, Gary "Pete" (Norma) Pottkotter of Fort Recovery, Nancy Mueller of Osgood, OH, Diann (John) Will of Fort Recovery, Deb (Joe) Thobe of Fort Recovery, Karl (Debbie) Pottkotter of Fort Recovery, Becky (Jerry) Bihn of Fort Recovery, Alan (Chris) Pottkotter of Fort Recovery, Les (Marilyn) Pottkotter of Fort Recovery, and Roy (Kim) Pottkotter of Fort Recovery; six siblings, Ralph May of St. Henry, Howard (Donna) May of St. Henry, Victor (Charlene) May of New Weston, OH, Ruth (Henry Jr.) Kunkler of Burkettsville, OH, Walter (Irene) May of St. Henry, and Jerry (Lou Ann) May of St. Henry; 40 grandchildren; 55 great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Rosie May of Fort Recovery.
Deceased are son-in-law, Fred Mueller; a great grandchild, Damon Klenke; two brothers, Wilfred "Bud" and Thomas May; two sisters, Jeanette Homan and infant sister, Delores May; and in-laws, Marilyn May and Ernie Homan.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joe, Ohio and was also a member of the church's Ladies Sodality.
She was a wonderful cook and a devout catholic, who prayed the rosary daily. Rita also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and her smile will be missed by many.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 am Monday, October 26, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joe, Fr. Ned Brown officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, St. Joe.
Calling is 1:00 pm-6:00 pm Sunday and 9:00 am-9:45 am Monday at Brockman - Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
