Ruth A. Houck, 76, Fort Recovery, Ohio, died January 11, 2014 at her residence in Fort Recovery, OH.
She was born November 4, 1937 in Corbin, KY, to the late Clement Bays and the late Minnie (Brooks) Bays. On February 7, 1953, she married the late Norman Upchurch, who died December 14, 1979. On May 23, 1980, she married Ray Houck, who survives in Fort Recovery, OH.
Also surviving are 2 daughters - Donna (Terry) Black of New Weston, OH and Gail (Cletus) Tobe of Fort Recovery, OH; 2 step sons - Alan (Carol) Houck of Somerset, KY and Brent (Cindy) Houck of Findlay, OH; a step daughter - Teresa (Dean) Hunt of Colfax, NC; a brother - Raymond (Jean) Bays of Eminence, MO; 15 grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren .
Deceased is a brother, Robert Bays.
She was formerly employed for many years at the Fort Recovery Industries, Fort Recovery, OH.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Fort Recovery, Ohio. She enjoyed traveling, doing word search puzzles and most of all spending time with family and friends.
Services are 10:30 am Wednesday at the Church of the Nazarene, Fort Recovery, with the Rev. Dennis Kelley and Rev. Verl Ballmer officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery, Fort Recovery.
Calling is 3:00 pm-7:00 pm Tuesday at Brockman - Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio
and 9:30-10:30 am Wednesday at the church. Contributions can be made to State of the Heart Hospice.
