Thomas W. Thwaits, 71, Fort Recovery, Ohio, died September 20, 2013, at Mount Carmel East Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.
He was born December 2, 1941, in Geneva, IN, to John W. Heistand and Idabelle Thwaits. Father, John Heistand survives in Bryant, IN.
Also surviving is a daughter - Melissa Osborn and her fiancé Michael Chiarella of Pataskala, OH; 2 sons - Thomas "Scott" Thwaits of Tucson, AZ, and Chris (Beverly) Thwaits of Fort Recovery, OH; four grandchildren - Tom, Nicole, C.J., and Alexandria; three great grandchildren - Courtney, Brooke & Alicia; and two step grandchildren - Ashalee and Anthony.
Deceased is his mother, Idabelle Thwaits, a brother, Jack Heistand, and a sister, Nancy Bontrager.
He was a 1959 graduate of Fort Recovery High School, Fort Recovery, Ohio, served in the Army National Guard and retired from R & R Poultry Plant, St. Henry, Ohio. Calling is 12:00 noon-2:00 pm Sunday at Brockman - Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio. Interment will be in Wells Cemetery, Bryant, Indiana at a later date.
